My game updated around 18:10 uk time (03/02/26) on steam. but it’s like it’s only partly updated I have the new family trees but the stairs and railing options are not there, I have the event pop up but when I try todo a task it doesn’t work.
I’ve reinstalled the game still no success I deleted the cache
I don’t have any mods or cc in my game I just have the base game downloaded on steam
any help will be much appreciated
AstirWizard2 Please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see which problems are still present.
Please also let me know what exactly you see when you try to do an event task.

Sorry to hear the update broke your game — that’s really frustrating. Sometimes recent patches can introduce unexpected bugs, especially if mods or custom content are involved. A couple of things you might try: remove or update mods first, clear the game cache, and make sure your graphics drivers are up to date. If that doesn’t help, rolling back to the previous save or reinstalling the latest patch cleanly can sometimes fix stubborn issues. Hopefully EA patches it soon!
