Game through app won't update

I'm trying to update my game (EA App), but I've used the Help > App Recovery feature and reinstalled both the EA App and the game itself. However, I'm still on an outdated game version, 1.111.102.1030. I also tried deleting GameVersion.txt, Config.log, and Options.ini files from the Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder. Then I started the game once, closed it, and checked to see if the EA app prompted me to update, but it did not. I also tried just downloading the Steam version of the game, and got to the same game version, I'm assuming, because I can't get the EA app to update the outdated version.

  • Roshumbo  As a side note, repairing gives you the updated version, whatever that happens to be.  So if you're having trouble updating in the future, that's an easy workaround.

Having said that, since you've reinstalled the game, you must by definition be on the current patch level.  The reason you're not seeing that could be an outdated Default.ini file inside ConfigOverride, in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3.  So have a look there and remove anything you find.
