Gaming Laptop Recommendations

Hey, I’m hoping someone could help me out with some laptop recommendations to play the Sims 4.

I’m not a massive gamer, so The Sims is the only game it would need to be able to handle, but I do/ will have all the packs. I don’t play with cc or mods, and wouldn’t need the laptop for anything else. I currently have a Windows Surface that has allowed me to play somewhat successfully for a few years but it just doesn’t have the graphics capacity for the game, so I haven’t actually been able to play for a little while.

I’m wary of buying something, and it not being as good as I hoped, despite trying to do lots of research on the specs that the game needs these days. But I’m also kind of wary of paying a fortune for something that might be massively overkill for what I actually need.

Willing to pay anywhere between £750 and £1000.

If anyone could point me in the direction of a sensible buy, that would be fantastic. Currently looking at these 2, but don’t really know if I need the more expensive one or not:

Thanks so much to anyone who actually reads this!

  • The laptop I use is a 16 inch Acer swift and its pretty good yall and comes with all the fancy trinkets. Standard out the box it has the new Arc graphics from Intel and a 1TB of storage enough for future game updates, packs, and mods. Plus it built for AI has a decent audio system and is certified True Black 5000 so the colors are going to be insane with the screen it has. Big kicker is it only 900 bucks yall and half that stuff isn't in some MSI laptops. That's just my suggestion but it up to you yall.

  • qwyendo  You don't need the more expensive laptop for Sims 4.  An RTX 4050 is more than fast enough for ultra settings even if you add ReShade or some high poly custom content.

Would you like the cheapest good option, or the cheapest good option with an RTX 4060 for some extra power (which isn't necessary but might be nice to have), or would you want to pay more for a particular feature?  Let me know, and I'll list some other options to consider.  But if you like the £800 option already and don't want to look further, it's a very reasonable purchase.
