Grey film over sims 4 home screen

I downloaded this game from EA website. It finished downloading but now I can't play it. It gets all the way to the home screen, then a grey film like screen comes over it. If I try and press play, a big diamond pops up and it stays for hours... Can someone please tell me how to fix it. I have no mods either. Brand new game never played once..

    Yes I've pressed every button and the game doesn't go on. I've had the game 3 days and still have yet to even play it. As soon as it loads that's the first screen I see and can't even hit play in the sims 4 welcome screen. As soon as I click no matter where at in the screen, the big diamond pops up and there is no going ahead.

    Then try right-clicking on the game in Origin and hit repair game.

    Tried that as well. I also uninstalled both the game and origin and redownloaded them both, nothing worked.

    Very weird. It's quite common but for most it works to either repair or hit ESC to go past the screen.

    Is it always the same reward it hangs on ?

    No each time it changes which diamond it is.

    Oh, then you might make progress

    You get one screen for every Sims 3 expansion pack you own. So maybe (even if it's a pain to have to restart each time) you'll get past time once you have them all

    Do you know how many you've had so far ?
