Growing Together refusing to download on EA App

I just purchased the Growing Together expansion pack and no matter what I've done, I can't seem to get it to download. I don't have any mods installed, I've repaired and uninstalled and reinstalled the game, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the EA App, and I have the order conformation on my e-mail account, so I know it's not an issue with payment. I've also tried to install the add-on both through going to the Growing Together page and clicking DOWNLOAD and going to the Sims 4 page and clicking MANAGE ADD-ONS, then clicking download and neither way is working. I also checked my computer for any double copies of files and did a complete sweep so I'm pretty sure it's not that either. It's driving me up a wall because after spending 40$ the add-on won't even download and the Player Help Service is being as helpful as trying to baptize a cat.

  • Same here I bought it and it won't download. It shows I own it but will not downlod the content.

    Hey there @aliceisalive1994 & @sharonkm 

    Please run through the steps listed out here and let me know if you're able to download your content then:

    • Open task manager, locate EA Background Service, and end task
    • Clear the cache for the EA app
    • Run the EA app as an administrator 
    • Check for any background applications blocking the EA App
    • Try lowering your User Access Control Settings:
      • Close the EA app
      • Click the Windows button and type "UAC" in the search field
      • In the User Access Control window, click and hold the slide bar —slide it to the lowest setting available
      • Click Okay the bottom of the window
      • Open the EA app client and try starting the download again
  • I've started up the processes on all of them but my computer has been acting very laggy every since I tried to download it originally. As soon as I have an update I'll post!

    Still won't let me download, I even tried uninstalling the ea app and reinstalling it and nothing. 

    How do I get a refund on this expnsion pack?

    NONE of these steps works.
    The app doesn't even SHOW that I purchased Growing Together.
    This is really not acceptable from a multibillion dollar company.
    Give us Origin back, it at least registered when we purchased games and let us install them!

    To get a refund processed, you'll need to contact live support as this isn't something we can do for you over the forums- please contact live support from the help site here so they can look into your refund eligibility with you.

    If the app isn't showing that you own Growing Together, it's sounding like there was an issue with the purchase details for this transaction that live support will need to investigate further- here on the forums, we don't have access to your account details to see what's going on. You can reach out to live support from the site here so they can review your account details with you a bit further.

    I've tried live support and got no refund. 

    My games showing I own it but it won't let me download it. On manage worlds the new world says that I preordered but it not yet available for download??

    I didn't preorder I bought it today.

    There's no live support to be found on the link you sent.
    I can only send emails or go for generic questions and answers...

    Also the request a refund page is also not working, the form is grayed out and you can't type anything in it

    @DolphineQ  If you're not seeing the option for live chat, change the location in your browser window to U.S. or U.K., or choose a slightly different category of issue.

    @sharonkm  The refund request form will only list purchases that are eligible for refunds, which Growing Together is not by default.  (Sims 4 packs are treated as DLC and therefore not eligible.)  That doesn't mean you can't get a refund, only that you'll need to talk to an actual person, in real time, to get one.  If the support rep you're dealing with doesn't want to help, be persistent, or walk away and come back later.
