How to get in contact with EA to merge two accounts (not live chat).

For context, I originally created an Origin (now EA) account (Account 1) in 2015 to access the three-day trial of The Sims 4. Later, my mom purchased the game for me as a birthday gift, but she created a separate account (Account 2) to make the purchase. Since then, I’ve only used Account 2, which I’ve since updated with my own email (different than account 1) and information.

Today, my boyfriend downloaded The Sims 1 & 2 for me—exciting! However, since my original Account 1 was still linked to my primary email, he accidentally made the purchase on that account. I never saw a reason to merge these accounts before, but now I need to. I know it's possible, but every time I reach out via live chat, I’m told it can't be done. I'm at my wits' end—where can I speak to a real person who can actually help?

  • kdsr213  It is certainly possible to merge accounts in general, but there are a few games that can block a merge.  I'm not sure whether you own one of those games or the EA customer support reps simply don't know how to fix your issue.

At any rate, the simplest fix would be to get a refund for Sims 1 and 2 and buy the bundle on your other account.  You can get an automatic refund of any full game (not DLC) within 24 hours of buying it, whether you've launched it or not.

If you don't see this in time, keep trying with support, using live chat specifically, and hope you get someone who can help you this time around.
