@robofoxartist  It's fine to multitask on your computer.  Just play in "windowed fullscreen" (i.e. borderless) or windowed mode rather than fullscreen.  Many games respond badly to alt-tabbing from fullscreen mode, including a lot of older ones and some that are much newer than Sims 4.

@citizen_cam  Are you running any other apps alongside Sims 4, and does it help to close those before playing?  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
