I genuinely do not know why this happens and what makes it happen

MHS_2003​  Is it just that your sims aren't appearing at the Main Menu and you're seeing some overlapping Ws above Resume?  If so, that's what happens when there's no active household in your most recent save, or when the game can't load the data from that household.

I think the ad on the right is normal, although the ones in my game are smaller than yours.

I do have sims saved in my save file. And it was working just fine before the newest update.

MHS_2003​  That doesn't mean the game can read the active household though.

Please click Load Game, select the save and household you want to play, and let me know whether it works.

And you do need to restart your computer after you get this error and before trying again.
