I lost all my save data

^^

A couple nights ago, i wanted to play the Sims 4. I had just reorganized my map folders on my laptop, and booted up the Sims, only to find my game completely empty; no saved files, no saved households. The only things i have left are the things i uploaded to the gallery.

I've had my game crash a couple times when saving, but i've never experienced this.

For context, my little sister sometimes plays the sims on her own laptop on the same account. I hope that isn't part of the problem, otherwise me or my sister can't play on our own devices anymore. Besides that, I also updated my game today, and pressed the repair option,  but nothing seems to work, sadly :(

P.s.: I also seem to have trouble opening the EA app, could this maybe be the cause of my problem? When i click the Sims 4 it has an easier time opening the app. I don't have any mods/cc installed. Maybe it was something I saved from the gallery? Or some build i put in my world?

I am describing as much as I can because i really want my save files back! I hope somebody can help me out :,)

  • Please see the first post of this thread about saves and other user data disappearing:

The fact that you and your sister use the same EA account has nothing to do with this.  Neither does any problem with the EA App itself, although the fact that the App budgets such a large amount of space for game updates can trigger this problem in certain situations.  Adding Gallery content can corrupt saves but shouldn't delete them, and it should never delete any saves where the content hasn't been placed.

However, if you two use the same Microsoft account, that could be the problem.  The workaround would be to change OneDrive settings to stop syncing or to unlink one computer from OneDrive entirely.  Both are covered in the thread linked above.
