Issue with Gameplay - CAS Mode Works, But Live and Build Mode Do Not
I’m experiencing an issue with The Sims 4. When I load the game, Create-a-Sim (CAS) mode works fine with no problems. However, Live mode and Build mode do not work as expected.
Here’s a breakdown of the issue:
- Dark blue screen: When I enter Live or Build mode, instead of seeing the household or environment I’m supposed to be playing, the screen turns a dark blue color.
- Frozen gameplay: The game seems to freeze, and I cannot control anything (no movement, no interactions, no building).
- Duplicated speech bubbles: The speech bubbles above the Sims appear duplicated on the screen, but no actions take place, and the gameplay remains frozen.
I’ve tried restarting the game, repairing the game, deleting everything and starting completely over (all cc, mods, saves, everything) and even reloading the save, but the issue persists.
@dragonflyleelee9 I apologize for the late reply; I've had a lot going on. You ran the dxdiag correctly, and it makes the issue clear: your laptop isn't using its graphics chip and is instead defaulting to rendering Sims 4 in software, with predictably bad results.
The dxdiag indicates that the iGPU may have been disabled, so try reenabling it. Click Windows key-X, select the Device Manager, expand Display Adapters, click the Intel UHD Graphics entry, and click the Enable Device menu button. Then restart your computer and test Sims 4.
