alfie_entropy Does this happen in all saves, in all households in one save, or only with your main household in the one save? Please test if you haven't already and let me know. Use sims you've never played before in the same save, and fresh sims you create yourself (not from the Gallery) in a new save, placed on a blank or default EA-made lot.
If only the one household is affected, try moving the sims to a different lot, and if that doesn't help either, empty their inventories. You don't need to save your progress.
If the new save is affected too, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
