Laptop advice

Hi everyone! I hope this is the right place for it but i have some graphics questions. I’m trying to find a new laptop for the sims 4 without having to spend a ridiculous amount and have a couple of questions about all the different cards and GPUs.

I found one i like the look of but am unsure if the graphics card would be suitable. I would only use the laptop to play the sims 4, i have quite a few packs no mods at the moment but if the laptop is capable of them I’d like to add some basic ones. It has an Integrated Intel® Iris® Xe® graphic card with a Intel® Core™ i5-1235U Processor.  Would this be suitable? Or there is another one with Integrated AMD Radeon 610M Graphics card and a AMD Ryzen 5 7520U processor. I have tried to research the Radeon 610m card but nothing ever comes up for it. I’m aware it could be an older model I’m looking at refurbed laptops to help with price.

I would really appreciate any advice or help, I’m just a girl who wants to play sims and i am really struggling to at the moment. Thanks. (Apologies if this isnt the right forum i am more than happy to move it to the correct one if needed🙃)

  • Device name
    Processor    Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz   2.50 GHz
Installed RAM    8.00 GB (7.78 GB usable)
I have been using this for a few years HD is small but works great suggest a HD with terabit for cc and saves but my 500 works fine

  • xemily_wbux  The Iris Xe graphics chip with 80 EUs (execution units), which is what is integrated into the i5-1235U processor, is somewhat faster than the Radeon 610M chip integrated into the R5 7520U.  The difference isn't exactly night and day, but all else being equal, the first is clearly the better choice, capable of running Sims 4 on medium-high graphics even with all current packs installed.

If you're going for integrated graphics, I would also suggest trying to find a model with 16 GB RAM.  It's not absolutely necessary, but it will be helpful now and more so in the future, as other apps get more demanding with time.

If you'd like help finding some good options, please list your budget and country, as well as any other details that matter to you (e.g. screen size or weight).  If you'd like a second opinion on the models you're already considering, feel free to post links.
