Long loading time

When I load into a household, the loading time is 20 minutes. I only have this when I load into a household. This happens to every household.  When I travel or when it loads to main screen, I don’t have this issue.
I’ve tried to completely play without mods, but the long loading time remains even without mods. When I removed my save, the game loaded much faster. When I added the mods back, the game still loaded fast. But when I put my previous save back, the loading time became 20 minutes again.
The loading time increased gradually in my current save. First it loaded fast, then the loading time was 5 minutes, then 10 minutes, then 12 minutes and now the loading time is 20 minutes. This is over a period of a few months. I’ve also removed different versions of the saves and tested the saves one by one. Does someone know how I can solve this?

  • DeiaMari  This might just be how Sims 4 runs now.  Changes were made so that the game initially loads more data, the idea being that subsequent loading times would be shorter.  If you've played a household for a while, it would make sense that the save has more data to load.

What you can try, just as a test, is deleting your main household in the affected save, plus any others you've played for more than a short time, plus any large builds, and really any builds you've downloaded from the Gallery.  Use "save as" rather than "save" so you don't overwrite your main save, then quit and reload and see how long it takes.  It would be a useful data point if nothing else.

If this helps, you can go back to your main save and try deleting only the sims, and, in a separate test, only the complicated builds and those from the Gallery
