[MAC Bootcamp] 1.8.61.1020 intro screen UI issue

After installing 1.8.61.1020 and removing all user files (i.e. the complete The Sims 4 folder, mods and saves and everything), I was unable to play because the TS4 logo intro video covered up the controls. This was the same no matter whether I used fullscreen, windowed fullscreen or windowed mode.

Screenshot 2 -- when clicking on Game Options

I was able to solve this by installing a No Intro mod that replaces the intro videos with empty AVI files, but it's still a pretty severe issue since not everyone would know that this kind of mod even exists.

This has never happened before installing that patch.

This is on a 15" mid 2014 MacBook Pro (MacBookPro11,3), Nvidia GeForce 750M GT (more details), running Windows 7 Home Premium.

Well, I thought over at MTS, they're doing better with that 😉

The current patch notes mention a (harmless) fix for 2560 x 1440 resolution and makes it sound like they think that is already an exceptionally high resolution ("if you are playing at 2560 x 1440, I’m jealous"). I'm on 2.880 x 1.800.

I don't know how common these high resolutions are in Windows hardware .. maybe this doesn't get tested very much for the Windows version, because they assume people with Apple hardware would always play the OS X version?

So it's a Retina issue? That would make sense, thanks for the feedback 🙂
