Mods unavailable in game

I am unable to access mods in game and cannot find the mod file in the sims folder. Mods aren’t even shown as available in cas “content” filter which proves my game doesn’t recognize them either way.
I’ve tried installing the game on different devices but no changes.
I don’t know if it’s a bug or something else.

Oh, you know what I just discovered? The document files for the books and stories I write on my other laptop, are suddenly squeezing the Electronic Arts folder. This is my gaming unit, not my word processing unit. Oi. I do think I'll take time to remove the files to an external hard drive, just to be safe. I've got a couple of novels in progress, plus all of my versions of Erik Cantrell & Company. Yikes. How on earth would this sudden transfer happen? It wasn't like this just yesterday.

  • GalacticGal  If OneDrive is running on the computer that holds these other files, it could have synced the files and downloaded them to your gaming rig.  And even if you think OneDrive isn't running, you could have accidentally reenabled it after a Windows update.  The last time I saw the prompt, it said something about backing up files but nothing about OneDrive and definitely nothing about moving the Documents directory to the OneDrive folder.  It was also opt-out rather than opt-in.

Point is, check the location for the files on the other computer; you can right-click and select Properties > General to see the Location, which is the full file path.

I saw my documents files in the other computer and then simply deleted them from my gaming rig. I have no word processing app on this computer. This is strictly for gaming. At any rate, it didn't change my status as I had hoped. What I need to do is find a way to deactivate the Event. After I first updated my game and did a repair, I could play my game. I was just frustrated that I couldn't understand, at first, how to get into the Event. Now, I'm sorrier than you know I was so bent on starting it. If I could roll back to yesterday, keeping the knowledge I have now, I would just play my game. It does no good if you can't save, travel, build, get into the Gallery or even click on the shopping cart. The only good thing about it, is I'm not being harassed to purchase a pack I don't want and don't own.

  • GalacticGal  To deactivate the event, open the game and disable Online Social Features, under Options > Game Options > Other.  Then quit and delete accountDataDB.package in the user folder.  The event prompt should be gone.

For the inability to save or travel, that could also be related to OneDrive.  So please check the file path on one of your saves.  If you see OneDrive in the path, how to get rid of it is covered here:
