months of problems

I purchased the fairy pack right after it came out and it updated a few days later. After the update it wouldn't open the ea app always said "failed to launch try again later" and I tried every suggestion I saw on here. After a few weeks of trying I gave up and a few days ago I tried to open ts4 and it worked but when I tried to open any saved games it restarted the save and gave me error code 22. I have tried everything I've seen on this forum. I'll try anything I just want to play the expansion pack i paid for :) Thanks guys!!!

    brighthaireddumb​  Please check your antivirus for any recent actions related to Sims 4 or the EA App.  If necessary, allow whatever process was blocked.

    If that doesn't help, please start a new save and see whether you can save your progress.  I'm not saying you need to get rid of your current save, only that this is a useful test.

    I excluded the ea folder and ts4 folder from my antivirus and that seems to be working, the game is lagging a lot but i created a new save, closed the game, and opened it with no issues so I'm going to hope it's fixed for now, thank you!

    brighthaireddumb​  Is the new save lagging too, or just the old one?  If the new save is affected, with no mods or custom content—please remove your Mods folder if you haven't already—then I'd like to see a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    If only the old save is affected, you can try moving your sims to a different lot, or playing with different sims, to find out where the lag is coming from.  This would be a test; I'm not saying you need to abandon your sims or existing builds.
