I recently made some modifications to my game files because of another issue that is not relevant now. and during that process i accidently deleted my sims 4 game folder /Documents>Electronic Arts> Sims 4. (the delete button and rename button are right next to each other) i opened the game again and it created a new file for me, i then played for about 2 hours with no issues and logged off. i just came back and my game isn't launching I've tried from the ea app, steam and the shortcut i have on my desktop but no of them worked. I've read a couple different forum posts about the same topic and tried a couple different methods they provided such as clearing the origin cache and repairing my game( i couldn't find the repair on the ea app) and those didn't work either. i dont really know what else to do and i am missing the game dearly ;(i have provided the DxDiag below.Thanks.

kylef06 Please let me know whether your new Sims 4 user folder is in OneDrive. Right-click the folder and select Properties > General, then look for the Location. When you play through Steam, you need to repair the game through Steam. The option is called "Verify integrity of the game files" and is under Properties > Installed files. Your dxdiag crashed twice while running, which could be a fluke or a sign of a system issue. So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files: Hit Windows key-X Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)” Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter Post the message you receive here Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates. If any install, restart again afterwards. Then run and provide a new dxdiag.

I followed the steps and this is where the game is located, C:\Users\PC\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\Slot_00000002.save. i am no longer experiencing the issue the game loads up perfectly fine, the game runs a little slower than it used to, it only even slows down when i am changing alot of things at once such as placing walls/rooms, changing wall or flooring color and changing the pool texture apart from that i think im good to go, unless you can recommend anything that can prevent this happening again. All i can say is thank you so much i really appreciate your help!!

Hello, my file isnt located in one drive it is here: C:\Users\PC\DesktopI have just Repaired the game through steam as you instructed and it now says Update Failed then underneath it says Disk write error and when i click resume update it instantly stops and the resume button reappears I am trying to follow the steps of the checks you have suggested and when i click windows+x neither PowerShell(administrator) or windows terminal(administrator) appear the list of options i have are below:Apps and Features, Power options, Event Viewer, System, Device Manager, Network connections, Disk Management, Computer Management, Command Prompt, Command prompt (admin). Task manager, Settings, file explorer, search, Run, Shutdown or sign off, Desktop.Also yesterday i uninstalled and reinstalled the sims 4, played for a while and it worked completely fine until now where the issue has occurred again Sorry im not really an expert with game files and things like that, thanks

I was able to find where to do the Powershell/WindowsTerminal is, it was under command prompt (admin) i followed the steps you provided and the message below appeared after Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them.For online repairs, details are included in the CBS log file located atwindir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For offlinerepairs, details are included in the log file provided by the /OFFLOGFILE flag.C:\WINDOWS\system32>I am going to restart my pc, check for updates and then post a new dxdiag soon

kylef06 That is strange, but of course a good thing. Please let me know if the game stops working again. And if it does, restart your computer and try again. Sometimes a real restart is all that's needed to unstick some issue that's blocking the game from loading.
