Sims 4 Crashing

I have been trying to play my sims for about 3 weeks and everytime I load into the game and click resume or load game it loads then crashes after 5 seconds and I’m stuck on a white screen. I’ve taken all my mods and cc out, moved my entire sims 4 folder, repaired and uninstalled the game, cleared the cache, switched to Steam, played in windowed mode, used advanced load options of -dx9 and -dx11, updated my drivers, ran the dxdiag and it says nothing is wrong. Idk if it’s an update or what. I’ve turned into a whole IT person and I’ve ran out of options. I’ve literally done almost everything and nothing is working. Somebody please help 😭 I just got this PC and I have plenty of RAM so my device being old or out of space isn’t the issue.

  • LadyA2301  I can't find drivers for your system on the Kamrui site, but it's very possible that the site doesn't provide any tailored drivers and instead uses generic Intel/Microsoft/etc. software.  At any rate, this error is the same as before: a crash of the graphics driver.  Installing a new driver should have fixed it, but since it didn't, I would suggest clean-uninstalling this driver, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

and reinstalling the driver I linked.  If that doesn't help, clean-uninstall the driver again and do NOT install a new driver.  Instead, go back online and let Windows download whatever it thinks is a suitable driver, restart your computer, and try again to play.

rw219xx  If you're specifically seeing a LiveKernelEvent 141, that's a crash of the graphics driver, and you should either update or, if you already have the newest-available driver for your GPU, do a clean uninstall and reinstall, as described in the link above.

  • LadyA2301  Does this happen with a new save as well, still with no mods or cc?  Please test for comparison's sake and let me know.

I'd also like to see your dxdiag, which you can attach to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • LadyA2301  Your dxdiag is full of crashes of the graphics driver, which would explain why Sims 4 isn't working.  So please try updating the driver.  Intel doesn't list a driver for your processor, whichi is odd and is probably either an oversight or reflects that the drivers should be provided by the manufacturer of the computer.  But you can use this driver, which is for the same graphics chip in a slightly different CPU:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/231803/intel-processor-n100-6m-cache-up-to-3-40-ghz/downloads.html

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.

If you get an error that the driver is incompatible, that would be because the system manufacturer has software that's blocking the installation.  Try this workaround:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000087660/graphics.html

If that doesn't help either, please list the exact model computer you have, which would normally be listed in the dxdiag but is not in your case.

I was able to download the driver with no issues but my game is still doing the same as before. I have an HP Series 5 524sh Monitor connected to a GK3PLUS Kamrui mini pc

  • LadyA2301  Please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

If that doesn't help, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Hit Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.

Look for an error that happened at exactly the time of your most recent Sims 4 crash.  If you find one, double-click it to see more details, then copy that info and paste it into a reply here.  If you don't see a new error, check back in an hour or so—the Reliability Monitor doesn't always update right away.

That first message I received said "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations" and I had no updates to install. After running the errors, it doesn't state the reason sims isn't working it just says the page stopped interacting with Windows and closed and for me to go check the Security and Maintenance for additional information on it and when I went there it says no issues have been detected by Security and Maintenance but I had another error for something else and it gave this message:

I’ve had the same live kernel event code for the past 3 weeks. My device is literally 3 weeks old too! The game is running really high ram so I think it’s causing it to crash. I saw someone else on here saying that they noticed since the update they’ve had a memory leak and high ram so not sure they are related. Hopefully the new update coming on 25/2 solves it.
