My game keeps crashing over and over

I don’t know what makes it crash. It doesn’t matter if I’m building or storytelling. There’s no particular trigger and the crashes occur after different time periods. Sometimes I can play for an hour, sometimes a few minutes and sometimes I can’t even start the game without repairing it several times. Sometimes clearing a cache can help to restart it, but never very long. Super frustrating. Had my computer checked. (It’s a reasonable new gaming laptop) Did all the things that were suggested. NOTHING works. Tried everything. Help! It’s making my game practically unplayable. I don’t have any custom content or mods installed.

  • sarahmoonblade  You'd need to upload the .csv to a third-party site like Google Drive, not to this site.  This forum only supports a limited number of file types.  I do think a .rar would work, but you'd need a third-party tool like 7-Zip to create one.  (7-Zip is a good choice because it's free and doesn't nag you to buy some full version or subscription.)

I have dropbox and one drive. I've just never shared anything through them before, so I don't know how to share them with you. Let me stress again: I have no idea what I'm doing here. You're basically talking Chinese to a person who can say Hello in Chinese and that's it. I'm going to see if I can get someone to help me share this with you through a third party site. Because I am making a hot mess out of this. This is a lot of hassle to play a game, lol

  • sarahmoonblade  Once you've created the .csv file, you can often simply drag and drop it into a window for the relevant filesharing site.  If not, there will probably be an Upload button that you click and that then prompts you to select the file you want to share.

I realize this is a hassle, but you've already tried the usual suggestions for this type of issue, other than the BIOS settings that you don't have.  And if this is in fact a hardware issue, whether an actual problem with your computer or something fixable but on the hardware side (e.g. the processor is overheating), then all the software troubleshooting in the world won't address it.  So I do need to see that .csv file.
