My sims 4 is lagging

Hey everyone,

I’ve been having a lot of issues with my Sims 4 game and I’m not sure what else to do.

  • The game keeps crashing randomly.
  • I can’t save anything to my Gallery.
  • It has deleted some of my in-game progress. For example, a family disappeared (I managed to recover it), but some of their progress didn’t save, and the game just reverted to an earlier point.
  • Certain features aren’t showing up, even though they should. For example, the Glimmerbrook Magic Realm isn’t available like it used to be—I can only access the magic world through the portal rock.

I’ve tried repairing the game multiple times through the EA App, but nothing has changed.

Is there anything else I can try? I really don’t want to lose my progress.

    ShemeshR​  If you use mods and custom content, please remove your Mods folder and see which of these problems are still present.  You don't need to save your progress, or in the case of testing the saving function, you can use "save as" so you don't overwrite the original save.  Let me know what you find.  I'm not saying you can't use mods and cc, only that it's important to figure out what, if anything, they're contributing to the list of issues.

    Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

    Finally, please let me know whether the game is reading a folder inside OneDrive.  Here's how to find the location of the user folder:
