You may need to ask about the issue on TSR's forum. They'll most likely be able to help you better.
It sounds like you've downloaded some custom content, but can't find where it's at?
If that's the case, search your computer for the custom content's name. Click the Start button and search for the name of the cc you downloaded.
For example, I just downloaded a hair from TSR called - Nightcrawler AF Hair SANDY.package
It downloaded to my downloads folder - My Computer\Downloads - I think is the path on Windows 7.
However, It's best if you search for the name of the CC, that way you're sure where it got downloaded to.
If it's a .package file, then you can copy it to - C:\Users\Username\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
It should show up then.
Again, If this doesn't solve the issue, please post in TSR's forum.
- Well, I just found the location to my cc downloads but it won't let me 'open' the files because I have this program on my computer called 'Adobe Reader' it says something about the file isn't supported and won't let me click it. Any ideas?

You are not supposed to open it and why you have chosen to associate the .package filetype with Adobe reader I don't know but it doesn't really matter. The .package files goes in the mods folder. Isn't there someone you know that can teach you the basics on how computers work?
Like Jpkarlsen mentioned the package files aren't meant to be opened.
If the custom content files are .package files they can be copied to - C:\Users\Username\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
If they are in .zip or .rar format. They they need to be extracted into the same folder as above.

The .package files in my game aren't associated with anything. That's by default.
If you want to change the association of your .package files, here's an article that can help with that.
Change which programs Windows 7 uses by default - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/18539/windows-7-change-default-programs
I didn't associate Adobe reader with it, it did it by itself and I cannot change it. I know how to work computers but the fact that I can't find the mods folder or the sims 4 folder doesn't help.
- I've looked up everything you said in my folders and it says that the "The Sims 4" file and the "Mods" file isn't a thing in my computer. I don't have a folder with C:\Users\Username\My Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods. The CC either isn't going into the place it's supposed to be or something obviously is wrong with my folders.
Ah okay, I think I might know why. Try logging into Origin and go to the Games Library and click on Sims 4 to play. This should create a new Sims 4 folder for you.
Once the game creates the Sims 4 folder, you should be able to find the Mods folder within it.

@e29960f376f5dcea You can change the file type association in Windows 7 control panel - default programs - associate a file type or protocol with a program.
- It still isn't working. I can't even find any mods folder. I honestly don't know what's wrong with my game

@e29960f376f5dcea Did you try the repair the game by right clicking the game icon in Origin? Did you try moving the game user data to your desktop allowing the game to generate a new user data folder?
I wanted to add on to what Roberta591 mentioned -
You can reset your user folder by renaming it or moving it to the desktop and launching the game so it makes a new Sims 4 folder. Here's a how-to:
Sims 4 Factory Reset -
Rename your Sims 4 folder to Sims 4_Backup. The game will create a new folder next time you play. - Renaming it or moving it to the desktop will help you have a backup and keep your Sims 4 files safe.
Repair the Sims 4 game. In Origin > Game Library - right-click on Sims 4 and select Repair. - To make sure the install files and such are in working order.
Try launching the game, play a new save. If it's not working, don't save. - However, if everything is playing okay then start putting the files back. (list of files and folders below).
- Options.ini (User game settings)
- Tray Folder (Sims/Houses/Commercial lots and rooms)
- Screenshots/Videos/Custom music
- Saves folder
(leave out slot_00000001.save which is the autosave. It is not used anymore.)
- Custom content like clothing, hair, skins, and makeup
- Mods (Put these back one by one to make sure they all still work)

If you move or rename the Sims 4 folder, the game will no longer be able to find it. When you go to play the game it will create a new folder.
I'm really sorry to hear the game still isn't working for you. I was hoping it would. If the above doesn't help would you please share your computer information with us?
To do that, click start and type in dxdiag and look for a file called dxdiag.exe. Click on that to run it. Look for a button at the bottom middle of the menu that says Save All Information.
Save the dxdiag.txt file to your desktop and share it with us.
You can attach the text file to your post or reply directly. (To attach a file click the browse button just above the Preview button, at the bottom of the message box.)
With this information we can see if there's any hardware or driver issues.Nothing works I don't know why but I've tried everything and nothing works
Would you be willing to share your computer's information with us to see if it will help us sort out the problem?

- Argh sorry I'm not very good with computers let alone the whole file? thing. I have the dxdiag file and everything but I can't figure out how to attach it. Sorry about this, you must be getting annoyed with this situation
To attach the dxdiag file click the browse button just above the Preview button at the bottom of the message box. Navigate to where your file is and double-click on it to attach it to your reply.
Think I got it
Thank you for sharing your dxdiag file. I'm not seeing anything in it that is indicating a problem.
Let me see if I understand the issue, you can't find the path to the Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder on your computer?
I think I may have asked this before, but want to make sure. Have you tried searching your computer?
-- To search your computer, click the Start button and search for Sims 4. Follow the link(s) that it gives you. By default the user folder (saves, mods, etc) should be in: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4
What path is it giving you?
I've asked my good friend that is amazing with computers and we located the Sims 4 EA folder but the mods folder he had to add. It was never there in the first place...?

I have Win 7 also and you must know that you should have two TS4 folders in your computer. One is in the Program Files(x86) folder and this must not be touched. The second folder should be in Documents.Open the Start menu choose Documents then Electronic Arts and inside this should be a TS4 folder - inside this there MUST BE mods folder. If there in Documents isn't TS4 folder, then I have a question - are you using OneDrive?
- I don't believe I'm using One Drive, I always just go from libraries to the folder ETC. Would that make a difference?
The last time I found the Electronic Arts folder Sims 4 wasn't in there, Spore(?) was. I then went on TeamViewer 10 with the friend that I asked to help and he found it somewhere else.
My computer is a mess. When you navigate to this path: C:\Users\Username\Documents\Electronic Arts What user folders do you see?
For example, I see Sims 3 and Sims 4 as shown in the photo below:
If you don't see Sims 4, you may need to log into Origin > Games Library and double-click on Sims 4 to launch it before it will create a user folder inside the Electronic Arts folder.
i open up documents and it says the folder is empty yet ive done exactly what you guys have said
@172e3cda00349872Hey! 🙂 (sorry for the late reply) I finally found out how to download CC for the Sims 4 but whenever I download it, it says "Adobe Reader could not open --- package' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged" And I know Adobe Reader isn't meant to open those files types but I had to get rid of WinRAR because it was acting up. Do you know any other reliable programs I can use for my CC
If you still need help with finding the Sims 4 folder I could help you! I'm only stuck on the downloading part- but everything else I got haha

You're not supposed to open the package files. There's nothing in there that you can do anything with. (They're not like a .zip or .rar file.) Just put the files in your Mods folder and the game will recognize and use them the next time you play.
