@jpkarlsen The cause is incorrect usage of the documents folder by EA. Using OneDrive to backup in Windows 10 is a normal system feature. Having to turn of Onedrive backup system features for one EA game is really stupid.

You are incorrect. Saving a games userfiles (saves, screenshots and other) should by Microsofts recommendation be done in the Documents folder. You do not have to turn off Onedrive unless you do not want your files there.
Yes temporary files should go to the TEMP folder. Since when has game saves and screenshots been classified as temporary files? You may want to lose your saves each time the TEMP folder is emptied but I'm sure no one else will.
The OP mentioned saves and screenshots (many of the latter).
