You do need to cancel the saving and close the game.
Please then remove your mods and make sure they are working with the current patch

- I did remove of my mods and cc, the game seems to work perfectly fine now. Thank you for your help :-)
I don’t have any custom content or mods and just lost about an hour of gameplay / my life to the game getting stuck saving for an hour before I forced it to quit and had to repair the game.
After spending hundreds of dollars on this game and also an EA subscription should we not expect it to provide the literal basic functionality?
