Re: The Sims 4- game crashes when saving in my library and building in build mode.

@Bee3737  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents\Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  Don't add anything to it yet; just start a new save and see whether you have the same issue.  You can transfer your saves and other content to the new folder if you want, but leave that until after you've confirmed that the game is no longer crashing.

If you get a crash in the new Sims 4 folder, please let me know whether you use OneDrive, and if so, how full it is.  Please also run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

I did post the DxDiag but no response with how to fix.  I noticed it's the gallery I'm having problems with.  Ever since the last patch update, I have not been able to play my game.  When I'm in build mode and try to save into my library it kicks me off.  I cannot upload to the gallery.

@Bee3737  I don't know where you posted the dxdiag, but I can only see this one from tonight.  At any rate, please answer my other questions: does the clean folder help?  Do you use OneDrive, and if so, how full is it?

@puzzlezaddict yes the clean folder helped. Now what do I do? I will try to put everything back on my game to see if that will work. I'm not sure what OneDrive is. I never used it before.

@puzzlezaddict My game crashed when I try to upload to the gallery. I sent 3 dxdiag to my case. How do I check and clean my OneDrive? I never save my stuff there but maybe the game automatically do it.

@Bee3737  If OneDrive is currently inactive, then don't turn it on; it'll only cause more problems.  If it's already on, that's another matter.

When the game crashed as you tried to upload to the Gallery, was that in a clean user folder, or had you put back some of your existing content?  If the latter, please try uploading again in a clean folder.  You can make something simple and take it down again afterwards.

The crashes in your dxdiag are access violations, which are unfortunately quite common and generic.  One cause is bad mods or custom content, but there are plenty of others as well.

@puzzlezaddict i removed all the cc prior to the update. I never placed them back in game. I used a clean folder and everything seemed to be ok. when I copied the items from the old folder to the new with no cc, it crashed after I saved 1 time in library and when I went to upload on gallery. I googled OneDrive but I never opened the OneDrive cause Idk how to use it. how can i find the bad mods. I removed the mod folder a long time ago and using no mods. Is it still hidden somewhere I can't find?
  • If I removed all my mod folder and the cc.  Is there a way to find out if there are some hidden that I'm not aware of?  I uploaded some free images, and I had my sims paint it and add to the game but I removed the original image.  Is that the reason for the crash?

@Bee3737  Which files did you transfer over?  It sounds like the issue is one or more of those files, so you'll need to test them to figure it out.  If you moved over everything, try just transferring the contents of saves, Tray, and Screenshots; the game will recreate all the other files as necessary.

If the game still crashes with only those three folders' contents moved over, try again but without the Tray folder present.  The saves and Screenshots folders should be fine, but you can try those one at a time as well.
