Red/Black Textures, Furniture Glitches, Lost Saves & Mod Issues in Sims 4

Hi,

I’ve been experiencing multiple problems with my Sims 4 game on PC, and I’m looking for help to resolve them.

Some of the base game clothing and EA hairstyles are showing up in a red and black or red and white checkerboard pattern with question marks in CAS. Additionally, some furniture items display a red “X” when I try to place them in Build/Buy mode. I’ve already tried clearing the localthumbcache.package file and repairing the game via the EA app, but these issues persist.

I recently lost my main Sim family saves, which has been incredibly frustrating. On top of that, I’ve been struggling with broken and outdated custom content (CC) in my Mods folder. While I’ve tried using mod managers and batch-fixing tools like Sims 4 Studio to fix these issues, it’s been overwhelming to isolate all the problems.

My game files were also accidentally synced to OneDrive, which caused pathing issues. I’ve since tried to move the files back to the default Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 folder, but I want to ensure the EA app recognizes this location and prevent OneDrive from interfering again.
