screen glitching really bad as soon as i boot up game

as you can see there are horizontal lines that flicker. it gets steadily worse than near completely obscures the game by the time i boot up the actual save file. it also on occasion will "rain "0s and 1s in the background. I'm using an acer aspire 5 with a 8gb ram and i7 processor. I've gone into settings made sure that the graphics is using the Nyda gone into Nyda settings and made sure vertical sync is enabled scanned my game for malware lowered graphics in sims 4 game settings, made sure to update I can't find any other suggestions please help.

  • Wildardsyst3m  Try forcing the game to use the Intel graphics chip instead.  Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics settings, click Browse, find TS4_DX9_x64 on the list, and choose the power saving option.  This is not a fix, just a test to see whether the problem is limited to the Nvidia GPU or more widespread.

Please also switch to DirectX 11 mode, as described here:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/PC/Enabling-DirectX-11-For-Sims-4-on-EA-app-and-Steam/td-p/13711976

And test both the Intel and Nvidia GPUs in that mode too.  DX11 uses TS4_x64, so you'll need to change its settings separately.

Finally, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply here by clicking the camera (Insert Media) button included with the other formatting options.

unfortunately, both graphic cards didn't work even with dx11. I did also notice a slight, but different, glitch in an adobe program. Here is the DxDiag either way.

  • Wildardsyst3m  Your dxdiag crashed while running and is missing some information, including about the graphics drivers.  This could be a random glitch or a sign of a more general system issue.  So please run a couple of basic checks of your Windows system files:

    • Hit Windows key-X
    • Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
    • Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes, and enter
    • The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
    • After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
    • Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Windows Terminal (Administrator)”
    • Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes, and enter
    • Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the box to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

Please then do a clean uninstall and reinstall of both graphics drivers, as described here:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

You can get the newest drivers from Intel and Nvidia here:

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/95451/intel-core-i77500u-processor-4m-cache-up-to-3-50-ghz/downloads.html
    https://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/230595/en-us/

The proper order of operations here is uninstall the Nvidia driver > uninstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Intel driver > restart > reinstall the Nvidia driver > restart, all while offline.  Then go back online and test Sims 4 again.
