Sims 4 - Game crashing when making family sized meal with oven
Okay, so before anything is said, these are the precautions I've taken to ensure this is actually the issue.
- I've removed all mod and cc files
- Freshly installed the game
- Updated to latest patch
- worked on lot with family I've never played
- attempted this with only base game items
Upon freshly installing the game I went to an empty lot with only a counter, fridge, and stove. Once the family sized meal was being prepared the game fully crashed whilst using the oven about half way through the cooking process.
I was once able to get the family sized meal complete and put the plate(s) on the counter, left the lot, then came back, and entering the lot crashed my game entirely due to the presence of family sized meal plates.
I placed saved empty lot on top of this and the game loaded and played just fine
Upon my playthrough I proceeded to break every oven in every lot I went through and had no issues playing the game whatsoever.
Question: does anyone at EA actually playtest any of these updates or play The Sims 4 on their own time? I would assume that if they did they would notice some of these serious issues with the game, right? Like if I made a game and key features of the game to keep my character alive just caused a severe crash I would 100% notice it within an hour.
