On the phone with EA, I discovered that uninstalling Avast! and checking the msinfo log for errors that explained why it was failing helped. I used to get this error and now, following those two steps, I am able to play!

This is not working game came up with popup error code like many on here too help fix can not load game at all....
But now it works had to remove the Tray Folder out it was because I moved my Sims files from CAS Demo into the Sims 4 Folder Tray I think that was causing that error? But now it is fixed... ☹️ had so many creations and have no idea what ones I had put in there. I bought the Disc though the Premium Edition x64-bit OP
- Anonymous11 years agoWas getting the same error message called ea and found out it was my anti virus. I just have to turn it off everytime I play. Now it works perfectly fine.

God bless you. This was my problem and the game works now. I uninstalled avast and it works!! Wow!! Thank you thank you thank you!!! - Anonymous11 years ago
For some reason. On my game it had some update required. Before I had done that ,y game was perfectly fine, but then after the update my game was slower. Also i couldnt even open my sims household. It would load, but saying error blah blah some number and then say restart the disk. I paid money for this game. Its annoying when this happens. If i dont get it fixed soon. Im getting my money back! Does anyone have an idea what to do?
I tried to reload the game, but it still won't start and gives me the message of initialization error.
So the solution is to uninstall Origin and not the Sims4?
The game has been working fine for me over the past week and then this morning it started crashing at startup. I've tried every single suggestion on this thread (among others) and none of them work. My drivers/redistrubitables are updated, I've unistalled/reinstalled Origin. I've cleaned my registry. I've rebooted... I've 'checked for updates" on Orgin and I've "repaired" it as well. I've reinstalled the game. I'm running in windowed mode. I've searched and searched for every possible solution and tried the majority of them. Nothing seems to work.
Computer has plenty of memory... it's a decent gaming computer. If Skyrim works with the graphics on high...this game should be easy for it to handle.
Is there an actual solution to this problem yet?
Will there be a patch to rectify this?
I have learned that I will never purchase a download from Origin again. If I had a physical copy I would be returning it today. $60 is a lot of money to waste on a program which won't run.
