Sims 4 doesn't launch

Hello,

can someone please help me? Since the update I can't open my game. I repaired it twice, the mods folder is removed and I even repaired the EA app. It still crashes whenever the loading screen first shows up. I don't know what else to do?

My DxDiag is attached.

Thank you in advance for any help!!

Thank you so much, you're an absolute life-saver!!! That actually worked! Could you maybe also tell me how to renumber the newest save?

  • disguised-chaos  Saves are labeled like this:

    Slot_xxxxxxxx.save

where the Xs stand in for hexidecimal digits, meaning 0 to 9 and a to f.  You can't have two files with the same name in the same location, so if, for example, you had an old Slot_00000002.save, and the new save you created was also numbered 00000002, you'd have to change it.  You can do that by clicking the save name and deleting and retyping the number.

Any number you're not already using is fine, except that the game doesn't always read high numbers well.  So stick with low ones like 00000060 or similar.

so I am supposed to change my saves number? Which ones? And what number? Do I keep the a? I am so confused, my game isn't loading with my saves after this update.

  • Nan22fly  You only need to renumber a save if it has the same number as the new save you start.  The only part of the save name that needs to change, possibly, is the eight-digit hexidecimal number after Slot_ and before .save.  And you only need to change it a tiny bit, enough so it's a number that no other save is currently using.
