When I tried to join my Sim to go to the Scientist Career, it show "Cannot load the game. Error code 801: Please restart the game". I tired to restart, uninstall and reinstall, delete the file: documents\electronicarts\The Sims 4\options(.ini) and run the game to creat a new one, lower my graphics settings to the lowest option, reduce the number of stuff inside my Sim’s inventory... But nothing help. BTW, the Doctor and Detective career are working perfectly. Thanks.

No, I'm not using any mods in the game, and I had tried to repair before I uninstall and reinstall the game, but still cannot solve the problem.

Could you start a fresh save and see if it works there. Sounds a bit that maybe your science lot has corrupted. If a new save works, would you be willing to share your broken save game ? If so, please zip up this folder: documents\electronicarts\thesims4\saves and drop the file to this Mediafire-Link to upload. Please make sure to name the zip file with your user name.

@crinrict It’s not a specific family. All of Willow Creek besides the Stack family l load fine. When I try creating a new sim in Oasis Springs or Newcrest, I get the error. I haven’t been able to add a sim to Newcrest at all. I can only play with my previously made sims. I removed my mods completely from the game and I had previously removed the cache. Nothing worked.

@terceiragigI Do you have a backup somewhere from before the save started throwing the error ?

It's a rather curious LastException the game throws and I can't even replace the house. It seems the save got corrupted or something.

@crinrict I can look but I don’t believe that I do! I made a save as soon as I started seeing the game break since I didn’t want to lose my progress. If it got corrupted, how would I be able to fix it? Just by starting new?

@terceiragigI You can try placing all your Sims and houses in a new save. Haven't tested if that works.

You'll loose all inventory and all relationships outside of family but it's better than nothing.

Hello all. Everytime I try to get to the 50x50 ship wreck lot in sulani it keeps giving me the error code 801. I took the sims 4 folder out and added it to desktop. Doesn’t work. I removed all mods. Doesn’t work. I’ve repaired the game. Multiple times. Doesn’t work. Please help! I’m loosing my mind.

I recently downloaded some modes for my sims 4.When I went to go play the game, error code 801 keeps on popping up. Ive deleted the modes and redownloaded the game. Error 801 keeps on popping up. What do I do?

@deadlydanniYou probably downloaded a virus or a trojan or you deleted a program or App in an improper way. Please check and clean your computer with a free antivirus program or a crap cleaner. It might even be necessary to re-install your operating system. But first download, install and run the antivirus program.
I hope it will solve this issue.

@deadlydanni I've merged your post with the master thread on this issue. This error is usually mod-related. If your save won't load even without using mods, try loading a backup save instead.
