Sims 4 Game Crashing, Tried All Recommended Fixes To No Avail
I would love any help with this, I'm at such a loss. Sims 4 crashes and closes on me anywhere between 5-60 minutes. I've tried everything I could possibly think about/find on the Internet. I have no problems with any of my other games crashing or not running correctly, it's just Sims 4. The game crashes no matter what I'm doing in the game, but it does crash quicker when I'm in build mode in the game, no matter what lot or what items I'm placing.
I think the game started crashing for me around December 2025. I don't know if there's any correlation, but it started when OneDrive kept popping up telling me it was deleting files. I remember googling if that was okay, and people were saying yes, so I let OneDrive delete files. But that's when Sims 4 started crashing for me. I disabled OneDrive then and still have it turned off, but the game continued to crash for me.
I'm going to list everything I remember trying in the past to fix this issue. There's no popup when the game crashes, it just freezes for a second, then closes and takes me back to Steam. I've removed all mods. I've tried repairing the game on EA, it still crashes later. I've tried using a clean sims 4 folder, removing my old folder so the game generates a clean one. Sims 4 still crashes with a new save. I've tried entirely deleting/uninstalling Sims 4 and EA to reinstall them. I've tried running the game through dx9 instead and that doesn't help. I've tried lowering my graphics settings and trying "laptop mode." Windows 11 is up to date, as well as my drivers. The crashing issue started when I was just using EA to run the game, so I switched over to launching the game through Steam, it still crashes. I've tried disabling all my game packs, just running the game without them, it still crashes. I allowed the game to bypass my firewall/anti-virus program and it still crashes. I've tried multiple Command Prompt scans like /scannow and /restorehealth, it finds no problems when I try that and doesn't fix the issue. I've deleted localthumbcache. The only thing I haven't tried that I can think of is resetting my entire PC, I want to avoid doing that if I can.
I've attached a DxDiag.txt and a lastcrash.txt that I hope can be read.
