sims 4 nor orgin are NOT opening

No matter how much I play around with the settings, or how many times I click on the sims4 icon or the orgin icon neither will open or allow me to play the game. I had a required update earlier today which took over 10 minutes to load and when it had finished I was no longer able to play my game. it is completely non responsive. there is no error message. Why does orgin have all these bull* updates that only pop up when I want to play the sims 4 right then? Right sweet this update gave me the nice luxury of not being able to play my sims 4. Sick of this.

    Hi Abbeyzz92. I had this issue earlier this evening. Do you have any custom content? If so, remove your content and try to launch your game. If you have no content and/or the game was running fine and broke solely because of the update, please completely uninstall origin from your computer and reinstall it. This should fix your problem.

    But, if your custom content was the issue, you will have to go through and check your most recent to eldest pieces of cc to see which broke. It's easy to test your content in medium sized groups to get it done quicker.

    Please take caution that mistakenly downloading Sims 3 and Sims 2 custom content will break your game and cause it to be unlaunchable.
