sims 4 opens in a small window and wont launch
This started happening about 2-3 weeks ago suddenly, i dont know why. i tried uninstalling the game, deleting mods, cache, cleared out all game files etc. tried changing from fullscreen to windowed mode (neither work). literally nothing is working. i play on a laptop, its pretty new and its a gaming laptop and everything else runs well, so idk whats the issue. I am so desprate to have the game run, would REALLY appreciate help.
NOOZLX Please try the suggestions in these posts, which are about a slightly different error, but one that is common on newer HP gaming laptops:
Game won’t launch | EA Forums - 4992631
Managed to fix my problem where it crashes during launch after update | EA Forums - 4998584If that doesn't help, please disable any apps that include an overlay: Discord, Steam, etc. Disable the EA App in-game overlay as well, under Settings > Application.
If that doesn't help either, please try playing in a clean boot:
The one service to leave enabled is the EABackgroundService, which the EA App needs in order to run. Disable the rest as described.
When you reboot your computer, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down any service that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example anything from MSI Afterburner to RGB software might still be enabled. If you accidentally kill a critical process and it doesn't restart on its own, just reboot your computer again.
Don't open anything other than Sims 4 and the EA App while testing, not even a browser window.
