Sims 4 steam suddenly wont open

I am trying to launch the Sims 4 in Steam but it won't actually open the game. EA will say launching game and it says its playing but its not.
I have done these things and it's still not working
1. Restarted my computer

2. Turned off my computer fully
3. cleared EA cache

4. Uninstalled EA

5, Verftied sims 4 folders on steam

6. killed everything sims/EA related in task manager

7. Uninstalled Sims 4 twice.
it still won't open and I have no idea what to do it was working fine yesterday and I didn't have any cc

@Craftykitty14  Your saves should be intact in the Sims 4 folder you moved to the desktop.  All you need to do is put them in the new folder in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4.  Saves are in the saves folder, naturally.  The same goes for Tray files (saved households and builds) and anything else you want to preserve, but please test anything you move back rather than assuming it'll work.

As a side note, I'm not sure how moving a folder would crash your computer.  If you moved the Sims 4 folder while playing, that would crash the game itself, but that should be the extent of the damage.

  • @Craftykitty14  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop, and when you launch the game, if it launches, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you moved but temporarily not read by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just let me know whether you can get far enough to start a new save and play in live mode for a bit.

If that doesn't help, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.

Thank you so much it worked!
I think the crash was a separate issue because it was something about my video card and my computer is dumb sometimes
