Sims 4 user folder won't move to external drive
I need help, I've been trying to download the Sims 4 on my external hard drive and every time I launch the Sims 4 a new 'Electronic Arts' Folder generates in my documents. I even went into the EA app and changed the location of my download so that it goes to my hard drive. I even moved the entire Sims 4 Folder and even EA folder to my hard drive, but it keep generating a new one, and even when I copy my old saves into the supposed 'Sims 4' Folder on my hard drive it doesn't load up when I open the game
[I don't have any problems with it successfully downloading, it's just that it won't stay on my hard drive and it keeps generating a new folder without my saves/mod loading in?]
K4ndyy_ The location where you've installed Sims 4 has nothing to do with the location of the user folder, which contains your saves and other user files. This folder is always in Documents > Electronic Arts. If you'd like to move it to the external, you'll need to create a symbolic link. Here's how:
Please do NOT use the same Sims 4 folder on your external where you've installed the game itself. Mixing the program files and user data can cause all kinds of problems.
If you get an error when running the command, please list the location you'd like the user folder to be on the external as well as its current location. Here's how to find the latter:
