Sims 4 will not open after today's update

Like the title states, after updating sims 4, the program will no longer open. The application will completely not start at all. When I click the start button, the EA app closes for a few seconds, then it pops right back up like nothing happened. I don't even receive a diolog box after trying to open it.

I have cleared the ea app cache, uninstalled and reinstalled the EA app. I repaired Sims 4 and tried taking all mods out I even took the whole Sims 4 folder out. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling sims 4. I restarted my computer multiple times. Something I noticed is that the game fails to even make the sims 4 folder for the games content at all.

I'm extremely confused. Does anyone know anything else I can do?

  • OMG, same, maybe the central server is going down globally? do we have to wait for a day or something for the game to be normal again?

Same has been happening for me today, the game "loads" then the original EA app screen disappears for a second, then reappears again, with no game being launched. I tried clearing the catch for the app, noting.

  • Same for me and I removed all my mods and did the entire process. the issue i have now is contacting EA for support. Everywhere I look on the site, it only takes me to Q and A. do you know how we contact them for starting a case to investigate?

If you still can't play, please let me know what antivirus you use.  Please also provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
