Debb1155 Are you trying to repair through the EA App? If so, please clear the App's cache:

Restart your computer, and try again to repair. If your internet connection is slow, or your computer is, it might take a few seconds for the repair to start, but not a few minutes.
For the rest, please start a new save and let me know what is present and what is missing: builds, sims, items, whatever you see.
