Sims Crash Even With No Mods

Hi, as the above says, I've been having an issue with my game crashing as of the Update right before fairies. I've done a lot of troubleshooting, from uninstalling and reinstalling the game to factory resetting my entire pc, repairing and all.

I will say that before there were mods in the game, but even after removing all the mods and testing it still crashed. I did eventually turn the Direct 9 back on, and it seems to be doing better, but now I get a last exception every time I open the game to see if it works just as is.

Below is my last exception file it gave me; no mods still, refreshed pc, only one save just to see if it works, so all my old saves are gone now

  • PandaDaniLife  Your lastexception didn't attach, so please try again.  This time, open the file and delete its first line of text, or else copy the text and paste it into a reply.  Please make sure the LE is current.

I'd also like to see a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I am having the same problem and haven't been able to play for over a month now. I assumed it was mods and patches so I was being patient and waiting. Finally I deleted everything out my game, no luck. Uninstall and reinstalled, no luck. And yes, factory reset my computer (honestly overdue tbh.) I have what I think is a pretty decent gaming laptop (MSI Katana 17) and had no issues anywhere else but now I uninstalled TS4 and downloaded inZoi and that too won't load at all stating a storage or memory issue. Both before and after the reset. I have nothing saved on my computer now. My storage reads 800GB left and Ram 31GB available. What is Direct 9? My game crashes after 5 minutes rather in CAS or loading into a save file which I no lover have any lol!

I no longer have that same LE file from that day, I believe. Here is a different one; this was after I had switched to DirectX 9 and was testing if it was truly due to mods or the game itself

This is after I had done a reverse update on my drivers since it seemed like that was suddenly an issue. Then, I just wiped everything and started my pc as if it were brand new again. Then testing and trying to make sure everything was updated correctly pc PC-wise; drivers, system updates, and the location it was installed.

As well as since having the new Adventure Awaits pack, it has been throwing LEs. Whether it is from the new craft station to the archery activity or kayaking. I haven't edited Gibby point or any places since I was still testing everything, so I have no idea why.

  • PandaDaniLife  This LE points to issues with a door but is also from a modded game.  So I can't tell you whether one of the lot's doors is broken or the error is mod-related.

The Sims 4 crashes in your dxdiag are too generic to of useful on their own, but mod-related issues can generate these types of crashes.

Please also disable Game Mode and Game Bar, both under Windows Settings > Gaming.  I'd like to know how the game runs with these disabled, in DirectX 11 mode, with your Mods folder removed.
