Sims Crashes On Loadup

@Qbingbong  First of all, please update both of your graphics drivers.  You can find the latest downloads for your laptop here:

If asked, choose "GA401QE" from the dropdown menu and then Windows 11.  Under Graphics, click Show All and download both the AMD and Nvidia drivers.  Install the AMD one first, restart your computer, and then install the Nvidia one and restart again.  You shouldn't get an error with either, but if you can't install the AMD driver for some reason, just skip it—the Nvidia driver is the more important one here.

If you get another crash, please try playing in a clean boot (the process is the same for Windows 10 and 11):

When you reboot, go through the Task Manager's background processes list shutting down anything that doesn't absolutely need to be running, for example any software from Asus (ArmouryCrate, ROG whatever, etc.).  If you accidentally kill the wrong service and it doesn't restart on its own, simply reboot your computer.

@Qbingbong  If you have OneDrive active, please try either disabling it completely (unlink it from your computer) or at least stopping it from syncing the contents of Documents:

If this doesn't help, or you don't use OneDrive, please create a new admin Windows account and try to play there.  Make it a local account, as in, don't sign into Microsoft, and don't sync with any other services you normally use.  You'll be able to launch Origin and sign into your usual account, and you won't need to download anything.

@puzzlezaddictstill no luck... been in contact with origin and Microsoft and they both say (along the lines of) they cant find a solution.

@Qbingbong  I read your initial post again, and I wanted to clarify whether you've tried a new user folder.  Meaning, did you ever move the Sims 4 folder that's in Documents\Electronic Arts, the one that contains your saves and other user content, to your desktop?   I thought you had from your wording, but just in case you haven't, please try that now.

If that doesn't or didn't help, try playing while your computer is offline.  You can sign into Origin and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi and/or disconnect the ethernet cable before pressing Play.

If that doesn't help either, I'd like to see a crash dump.  Click Windows key-R and copy and paste this:

When you enter, you'll see a list of .dmp files.  If one of them from the last two or three days (after we started troubleshooting here) is from Sims 4 or Origin, please upload it to a third-party filehosting site (Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and link it here.

If there is no Sims 4 .dmp file, you can enable them:

• Hit the Windows key, type "command prompt" in the box, right-click on Command Prompt in the search results, and select Run as Administrator
• In the window, paste "reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps\devenv.exe" /v DumpType /d 2 /t REG_DWORD" without the outside quotes into the box, and enter
• Launch Sims 4 and wait for it to crash (whether you can play at all or not)
• After it crashes, wait for any crash dialogs to finish
• Then hit Windows key-R and paste "%LOCALAPPDATA%\CrashDumps" without quotes into the box, and enter
• Upload the last .dmp file to a free filesharing site and link it here
• When you want to undo the auto crash log dumps, open Command Prompt as before, paste "reg delete "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Windows Error Reporting\LocalDumps" /f" without the outside quotes, and enter.

During all of this, please continue to use a clean Sims 4 user folder, just so that there aren't any complicating factors.

@Qbingbong  Your crash dumps are all the same error, one that involves a component of Windows that shouldn't be corrupt (and would likely cause more severe problems if it were).  Still, it's a good idea to run a couple of basic checks on your Windows system files:

• Hit Windows key-X
• Choose either “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator),” whichever option is offered
• Inside the window that appears, copy and paste “DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth” without quotes into the window, and enter
• The system will start validating soon. If it throws an error, please list it here
• After it reaches 100%, hit Windows key-X again
• Again, choose “PowerShell (Administrator)” or “Command prompt (Administrator)”
• Inside the window, copy and paste “sfc /scannow” without quotes into the window, and enter
• Post the message you receive here

Restart your computer, hit Windows key-i, select Update & Security, and click the button to check for updates.  If any install, restart again afterwards.

I know you tried a clean boot before, but your crash dumps mention a component of Razer Chroma, actually two.  Is Chroma or any other Razer software running while you play?  If so, it could have stayed active in the clean boot, which is why it's always important to manually check the Task Manager's background processes.  But if you happened to miss the Razer software, that could explain the crashes.

Please also disable the Origin in-game overlay: open Origin's application settings and click the Origin in-game header, then disable the option at the top.

@Qbingbong  This type of command needs extra permissions to run, not only that you're using an admin account but that the console is running with administrator rights.  You need to choose the Command prompt or PowerShell (or Windows Terminal) option that has the word Administrator in it.  If you're searching for the option rather than accessing via Windows key-X, you should still see an option to run as administrator on the option you get with the search results.

@puzzlezaddicthey, so the message I received (6th and 7th bullet point) was
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

There's no updates and I have uninstalled the razer software since I don't own any and have no use for it anymore. Also have the in game overlay for origin off. All with still no luck in working.
