Sims keep leaving the house
Hello, I'm a fairly new Sims 4 player and 2 days ago I noticed a rather aggravating and confusing thing happening with my game. I currently have 2 households in Newcrest and when I'm playing a household and want to stop playing or switch households, I always pause and save my game before exiting. But when I go to play that household again, when I hover over their house, the little family portrait will have the mother and both daughters (in one of my households but for example) greyed out and when I click on the house, a pop-up asks me to select a Sim to play. The first family (the mother and daughters) lives at Asphalt Abodes and my other Newcrest household lives at Rippling Flats which is across the street. And it says that the mother and daughters are at Rippling Flats instead of Asphalt Abodes where they belong! So I press play and they're just chilling on the sidewalk in front of Rippling Flats and they're in the "Fine" mood. I send them home, endure the long wait for the loading screen and once they're home, all their needs have been reset! As well as the needs of the other two Asphalt Abodes family members, a young adult male and a baby. And when they get home, they just stand on the sidewalk in the "Fine" mood until I make them go inside.
It doesn't seem to matter if I pause and save while they're sleeping either. It has happened to me five or six times now with both households. If I switch to my other Newcrest household, I find both parents and one of the children on the sidewalk in front of Asphalt Abodes and have to send them home. I even tried locking all the doors in both houses and they still somehow get out and then I have to unlock the door anyway so they can go back inside their home.
I don't know why this is happening to me, it's really frustrating! Am I not allowed to have more than one household in Newcrest? Or can they not be neighbors? I'm pretty sure that's not it but that's all I can think of since they keep spawning on the sidewalk at my other household.
I'm playing on a Mac, I'm running OS X Yosemite, and I currently don't have any mods or CC, I deleted all the contents of my Mods folder just in case that was it and it didn't make any difference. I've tried restarting the game several times, I restarted Origin, I did everything I could think of. I wasn't able to find a thread on here or on any other Sims forum that described this exact issue, so I hope it's ok that I'm creating a new thread.
The attached screenshot is of the family that lives at Rippling Flats and this time it's both the parents and not the kids or the baby, who are at Asphalt Abodes. Even though when I stopped playing that household, they were both at home, sleeping I believe, and I paused, saved, did "Save As", "Save and Exit" everything!! I really hope someone can help me!!
