Stuck on the loading page

I have been stuck on the loading page when I either leave a build or try to play a different household that isn't the one that I created. I removed all my mods and cc and still had the problem. I also repaired the game through the EA app, and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, but I still have this issue. What do I do to fix this? It is making the game unplayable.

  • So I have completely started fresh on a new save I even deleted the old save that was potentially making me get stuck on the circle of death when the game has to load. I also installed the graphics driver from Intel and I am as we speak still having issues with getting stuck on the loading screen. It is very frustrating and if you have any more advice on what I can do that would be helpful. I love the game and I have never experienced this before but every possible fix doesn't work. please help if you can! Just a reminder I took out all my mods and cc (didn't work), I uninstalled the game and reinstalled it ( didn't work) I started fresh on a brand new save without adding any sims or builds from the old save (didn't work) I installed the graphics driver from intel (didn't work) I even didn't get a build from the gallery I built my own house to avoid getting a build that is somehow broken (still having issues)

  • AmarisNichole150  I should have mentioned it before, but did you add any content from the Gallery or your own library to the new save?  If so, please test again without it: only freshly-made sims, only default EA-made houses.  The Sims 4 errors in your dxdiag are pretty generic, but one cause of them is a broken build (even one that was fine previously), and another is a sim with some borked data.

If that's not the issue, see whether you can update the graphics driver for your computer.  HP software often blocks updates on laptops, but I don't know whether that same software would be present on your desktop.  Here's the newest graphics driver from Intel (dated December 19):

    https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/201894/intel-core-i310105-processor-6m-cache-up-to-4-40-ghz/downloads.html

Run the installer as an admin: right-click the download and select "Run as administrator."  Restart your computer after installing and before trying to play.  If you can't install the driver, that's fine, we can come back to this later after trying other approaches.

  • I am leaving another comment letting you know that I did another save and everything seemed to be working but I did find myself stuck in another loading page when I was trying to play another household. Here is the attachment.

I will try the new save file since that's the only thing I didn't think to do. If that doesn't work, I will try the other solution. To answer your question, this is the only save file it has happened to. Thank you.

  • AmarisNichole150  Does this happen in all your saves or just the one?  What about a new save?  The question is whether the problem is save-specific or global.

If even a new save is affected, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
