There have been more reports on this again lately.
It's one of these issues that seem very hard to pinpoint and the only thing really helpful is a save where you can make it disappear reproducibly (like you have a backup from before it disappeared and when you play, it disappears again.

I guess it's most like that bug report - I traveled to the gym, when she arrived, the gym was not there. A gym trainer was standing in front of the lounge, the gym lot was empty. When I went to Manage World, the lot showed as empty, but the gym was in my gallery.
When I exited the game without saving, it deleted ALL my save files.
I will see if I can make it delete the lot again. I'm just grateful I have a backup of my save folder.

- As in delete the whole folder ? That is really odd.
Just the saves from the folder or are other folders also affectedIt IS odd! If I were not such a strong person, I would have burst into tears :D
It deleted all the files from the saves folder - completely empty. Tray files and screenshots folders were unaffected. The localthumbcache.package and spotlight_en-us.package files changed, but are still there.
Edit - I haven't yet tried to duplicate this, but I do have a fairly recent backup of the saves folder. Once I see if I can reproduce it (either the lot disappearing or the whole saves folder) I will update the bug report thread.
