Unable to click anything after new update (Jan 14th)

I updated the game with my Mods, Saves and Tray folders out. I opened the game with my Mods folder still out. I was able to see the new main screen and the elements that are supposed to be moving are moving but I'm not able to click anything. When I do click on the three dots in the upper left, my screen flashes and it brings me back to my desktop (the game is still running but minimized). I have to quit the game via Task Manager to get it to close because I just brings me back to my desktop whenever I click anything after that.

I took my Saves and Tray out again and repaired my game and started it up again. Same thing happened. At this point I only had GShade still installed and so I figured it was that. I uninstalled it, and restarted the game with my Mods folder still out. The same thing is happening. And yes I've deleted my localthumbcache after every start up. 

At this point I'm unsure what's happening or what it could be since there are no Mods that could be remotely effecting the game. If anyone has any suggestions I'd really appreciate it. I obviously can't play the game at this point.

    @skycastleshay  If you have any files in ConfigOverride, in the same Sims 4 folder, please remove them.

    Otherwise, please disable any apps you use that come with overlays: Discord, Steam, etc.  Disable the EA App in-game overlay too, under Settings > Application.

    @puzzlezaddict Thanks for the reply! I don't have anything in ConfigOverride. I did have overlay enabled in the EA App and Steam. I disabled all of them and even double checked my NVIDIA overlay was off as well.

    I started the game without my mods or saves installed and the issue persists. ☹️

    @skycastleshay Tried to edit the post but couldn't for some reason. I was able to get it to work. I haven't reintroduced my mods or GShade back in yet but what helped was I actually had a Windows 11 update (that must have dropped in some time today since it wasn't there yesterday) and I repaired the EA App.

    @skycastleshay  I'm curious what update this was.  If you're willing, please check the Reliability Monitor and let me know.  Click Windows key-R and enter "perfmon /rel" without quotes, and you'll see a chart of errors and updates with a column for each day.  Today is on the right.  Find the update that helped, right-click it and select View technical details, copy that information, and paste it here.  Or, if it's easier, you can post a screenshot of those details.

    Sure I don't mind sharing at all. It was actually three updates. I'm assuming the antivirus one wasn't the one that helped but I'll include all three...

    @skycastleshay  You're right, it was probably not the security update, since on the off chance that Defender was the issue, you wouldn't have been able to open the game at all.  But either of the other two could have helped.  Thanks for the info.
