Attempted to repair my game but I can't because it's managed by Steam, but I have never used Steam to buy a game for The Sims 4. I have only ever bought them through the EA App/Origin.
I do have Steam installed on my computer but have never added Sims 4 to my library.

This one's definitely a bit strange if you've never linked Steam to this EA account and haven't used it for Sims 4 previously. Were you having any issues launching the game as well, or is it just the repair option causing trouble?
If it's just the repair function, I'd try going through these steps to clear the cache for the EA app and see if there's any change afterwards.
Have you been able to play normally without issue recently, or is this the first time in a while you've tried to log in? I do see an account change just over a year ago that can sometimes result in strange behavior. If you haven't played since then, it may be worth reaching back out to support at the bottom of the page linked above so they can take another look.
If this is causing other issues aside from just being unable to repair, please let us know any other details!
