footslurper3000 Please try switching to DirectX 9 mode. Open the EA App, click Sims 4 > Manage > View properties, and add -dx9 to the command line box.
If that doesn't help, please post your full dxdiag, saved as a text file.
Does anyone know what I can do to fix my game please? It won’t load at all. I tried to continue playing my usual household after the latest update and it won’t load, just freezes on the loading screen. I have tried re-starting and clearing everything through Task Manager. I have repaired the game and it still doesn’t work. If I try to create a new game the screen just goes black (see picture). No mods or cc. Any ideas please?
Chloelouise1306 As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder. Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop. When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content. (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.) Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it looks.
If the new save is fine, you can copy one of your existing saves to the new Sims 4 folder and test that too. And if the old save still has the same issue, please try loading a different household, one you've never played before.
If the new save doesn't work, please provide a dxdiag. Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop. From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.
I also had the same issue as Chloe. I even uninstalled the game completely and redownloaded it. I still have the same issue.
Your suggestion to her, would this maybe work for mine? Or is the “clean” user file another method to try?
