Update fails to patch

When I try to open the game, it attempts to download the newest update and patch it. it gets all the way through the download and then gets to 99% done with the patching when an error message pops up. It says," An error occurred while launching this game: Content file locked - D:\Steam Games\steamapps\common\The Sims 4\__Installer\DLC\EP06\__Installer\Cleanup.dat." I also have an issue where, when I go to manage add-ons, it keeps having me re-download Get Famous. Not sure if the 2 issues are connected.

    Scottacus00​  Do you still need help with this?  If so, try repairing the game instead: Sims 4 > Properties > Local Files > Verify integrity of game files.

    Get Famous is expansion pack 6 (EP06), so yes, this is probably related.  If repairing doesn't help, try deleting the EP06 folder inside DLC in the file path above, as well as the EP06 folder directly inside this Sims 4 folder.  Make sure Steam and the EA App are closed and that no related services are running in the Task Manager's background processes list.
