Hey everyone, anyone knows why my text file looks like this after last two hotfixes? It was fine with the update up until the 1st hotfix for the store button.I have: deleted cache, deleted the file and ran the game, then I did all of this again and repaired the game and it is sitll the same 😅 My game is fine (as far as I know lol) it's just the weird txt file all of a sudden.

Just came on here to report the same thing. I booted my game up for the first time since the most recent e-patch, but now I'm worried about playing if the version number is weird like this.
Before the patch it was all numbers.

No, it is not. The file always shows the current patch number and have used it many times to copy the version when reporting bugs. Plus all my other friends have normal files, with a version number. And I had the same until two hotfixes ago.

@EeveeTinn and @JuniperWhimsy Please delete the file and let the game create a new one, then see whether the version number shows up properly.

@puzzlezaddict I deleted Game Version txt file and ran my game as suggested, but the newly generated file is still the same weird random symbols and not numbers.

Let me try to explain this. It is rather technical I'm afraid.
Text files can be encoded in different ways and depend on the program to know how to show it.
There was a change some time ago where the file was changed to save with ANSI encoding but by default Windows and Mac uses UTF-8 which means that Notepad (Windows) and TextEdit (Mac) do not show it correctly. You can instead use a more advanced text editor to view it such as Notepad++.
This has been reported to EA so it might be changed in an upcoming patch but I can not guarantee it.

@iMBANNED486 It's not. As I stated before, I always had the game version number shown, and I always used the txt file for patch number when reporting bugs,as it is easier than to run the game and write the number from there.
The rest od my friends have a non-Strangerville looking like txt file.
