That globe only goes on a table
The globe for the quest is bigger and goes on the floor
A few hours ago I started a new town for playing the tutorial. I even got to the Mysterious Island quest. Obviously this quest has changed recently.
New players get the small globe for free now, instead of having to buy the large one for 10,000 Simoleons. This is a great change!
