No cloud save

I've been playing for months now with two accounts (one actually was for my daughter) but since last weekend for one of my accounts my cloud save is gone.

I tried everything, log out in the account settings, log out on FB, uninstall and reinstall the game, log in before opening the game, tried on three other devices but nothing. 

I used to be able to switch between my accounts and between devices because of the cloud save but now I am stuck to my other game status because the second one does not have any data in the cloud, as the account settings say. But my last cloudsave was Sunday afternoon, after the receipt of the cowplant, so it can't be that the 7 days of storage of the cloud is gone.

I never had problems before. It's not that I overwrited my game with my other game, because then it would not say 'there's no data in the cloud', it would just offer me to download a cloud save which would be with the level for the other account.

When I am in the game it looses the log in with FB all the time (like when visiting a neighbour) but normally it's easy to log in again and go to the cloud. But now for this account I do log in on FB via the prompt in the game, it returns to the game but when I check my player ID it says I'm playing as guest, not one social network connected. Even though two seconds before the game let me connect to FB.

How can I get to my cloud save again? I don't want to loose my game, months of work gone would be very frustrating.

  • I’m sorry you ran into this issue! 
    Did you possibly also play with Google Play logged in not long before this happened? There might be a chance to get that save. Depending on when you saved with Google Play, you may have lost some progress though :(

    Did you possibly also play with Google Play logged in not long before this happened? There might be a chance to get that save. Depending on when you saved with Google Play, you may have lost some progress though :(

    Thank you, you just saved me!

    Indeed there was a cloudsave in the Google Play. Apparently I was only cloudsaving to Google, not to EA. And I do remember now that last weekend I disconnected the Google Play account because I didn't see any use for it. Never thought that the cloudsave-option would pick the Google Play servers and not the EA servers when both are logged in at the same time.

    From now on I will use one device per account, just to prevent future confusions or risks when changing account

     I was able to get my gamesave back again, no loss at all. So again, thank you!!!!!!!

    I‘m glad you got your town back!

    For sure it’s better to have different towns on different devices!  

    I hope you don't mind another suggestion. Use both accounts for your town to save the game. Upload the data once when only Google Play is logged in, and again when Facebook is also logged in. The game used to do this automatically, like it’s stated in the Account Manager. But now we have to do it on our own.

    Thanks for the advice, that's a good idea. So I will have to log in on Google Play, save to cloud, log out, log in on FB, save to cloud and that way I will have two cloud saves (normally, when things go like they should). Now I will try to find out whether I can have a second Google Play account to connect to the other SFP account, so that I can double-cloudsave for both games. Thank you once again!

    You’re welcome!

    I’m not sure if it’s necessary to log out from Google Play. Guess, it’s the same on Android and iOS devices. 
    Usually I let my Game Center account logged in all the time, and just log in with the FB account on top. Then I force close/open up the game, upload to the cloud and log out from FB again.
    I want to avoid the current issues with FB login in SFP on Apple devices, so I only use FB when needed.

    I play on Android. Before I logged out of Google, I was always connected with both, FB ànd Google. But it seems that when I was uploading to the cloud, it only uploaded to Google, never to FB. Maybe that's an Android issue, but to stay safe I'll do both separate.

    How do you get your neighbours without FB btw?

    If you feel better with uploading separate, it’s the best you can do 🙂  

    Unfortunately we don’t get neighbors without FB anymore.

  • 😕So you don't have neighbours for your social tasks etc. 😟

    I thought so. Pity, I would not mind at all to leave FB out of the game. Wish we could just use our EA-account to log in.

    Oh,  I have neighbors via FB and can visit if I want to. It’s just inconvenient, because the feature doesn’t work properly on iOS.  
    But currently we can do nearly all social tasks in Another Sim Town, if we’re logged in with Game Center. I guess it’s the same with Google Play.
