Why the event hasn't started yet

The Sims Mobile event calendar said a treasure hunt event would start on September 9th. Today is September 10th and it hasn't started on my device yet. Plus, I suddenly found myself with some extra money (20k) and a notification that my artifacts, clues, and bunnies had been turned into simoleons. What is happening?

    Yes. I’m getting exactly the same. I’ve not had a Treasure Hunt challenge to play for months now but I keep getting notifications that it’s started.
